Since Sir Walter Farluba, the Earl of Karother, is never invited to play in the town band, he assumes that none of his subjects like him. And the townsfolk, never seeing Sir Walter, assume that he doesn’t care about them. Then one day, a horrible noise filters down from the Earl’s castle. And it takes one brave young girl to find out what it is!

From the award winning author of the Commander Josh series and Escape into the Mall, Donna LeBlanc explains to young readers the importance of being honest and caring and most importantly, of not making any assumptions!

About the Author

When growing up, Donna LeBlanc planned to have many occupations. And one was that of a teacher. For over two decades, “Miss Donna” has welcomed her piano families with a smile, a warm hug, and home baked goodies! Her love of children, her child-at-heart attitude, and her ability to inspire were the catalysts for her becoming a writer. Reading was always an integral part of Donna’s life as a child, and her favorite authors inspired her to use her own imagination.

In 2009, Donna put that imagination to use and began to write children’s poetry. Since that time, her book Escape into the Mall and her Commander Josh series have won multiple accolades, including Purple Dragonfly awards, a Royal Dragonfly award, and honorable mentions from the NE Book Festival and Pacific Rim Festival. Her books have also received the prestigious “Story Monster Approved” seal from Five Star Publications, Inc.

Sir Walter Farluba was inspired by a student who told Donna he loved playing music so much that he could sit at the piano all day long. After thinking about it, she realized that being stuck at the piano couldn’t be quite as comical as being stuck in a tuba. And her journey with Sir Walter was quickly on its way.

In addition to teaching, painting, decorating, and writing, Donna finds time to volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, for school and town events, and the Friends of Beekley Library in New Hartford, CT. She also advocates for those in need and has an on-going donation box that is generously filled by her piano families.
